KID$ School Banking Program
At First New York Federal Credit Union, we understand the important role a solid financial education plays in the development of children. We believe that offering a School Savings program is an excellent way to teach students financial literacy skills at an early age. Children who learn to save today will be more likely to make wise savings and investment decisions in the future.
We are proud to partner with Capital Region schools by offering our KID$ Program within the schools. Our school program gives students the opportunity to open and contribute to a savings account during the school day. Students learn the importance of saving through school banking and are rewarded with special gifts for their efforts.
To help get students started with their new membership, we match their first deposit up to $5.00. For every fifth deposit made, the students earn incentive gifts. Rewarding them for saving money encourages even more savings. Students are also encouraged to bank online through First OnLine where they can watch their money grow while practicing their computer skills.
Kids in grades K-8 can earn $5 every quarter when they present their report card at a First New York branch within 30 days from the date the report card was issued.
If your school is not already participating in our KID$ Program, please contact Sayla Eisner-Mix, School Banking Program and Marketing Coordinator at (518) 393-1326 ext. 1803 or firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about this valuable program.
