Full and Part Time and Floating Tellers
First New York FCU is seeking entry-level candidates for Teller positions. We offer competitive starting rates. Position includes benefits. Schedule requires half day on Saturday. We are looking for individuals with great communication and customer service skills. A Teller is expected to efficiently and accurately process financial transactions with minimum to no error. Duties include cross-selling products and services. Tellers are expected to provide quality member service to credit union members. Recent background must include cash handling experience.


First New York FCU is currently seeking to fill the position of Collector. This is a full time, permanent position that will include evening and Saturday hours. The Collector has a direct impact on the mitigation and recovery of credit union losses on delinquent, negative or charged off accounts. Daily outbound collection calls and sending collection letters is required as well as reviewing reports, handling restraining notices, levies and filing disability and life insurance claims. Collection activities will be performed for multiple loan products utilizing various systems and methods. The Collector will be expected to participate in all stages of the collection process to include loss mitigation, foreclosures, skip tracing, insurance claims, repossessions, charge offs, recovery, bankruptcy and collection agency liaison. Superior verbal, written and telephone communication skills expected. Successful negotiations for payment arrangements will require persistence and excellent customer service. Other responsibilities include routine correspondence with members and agencies, assisting with account preparations for collection agencies, attorneys and preparing for charge offs, completing information subpoenas and restraining notices. Duties will also include maintaining member files, records and assisting with various department processes. It is preferred that the candidate have a 2-year degree and must have at least 1 year of Collection related experience. Must have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is necessary to be successful in this position.


Facilities Maintenance
First New York FCU is seeking a candidate to fill a Facilities Maintenance position. Will be responsible for general upkeep, repair, maintenance and improvements of First New York FCU facilities, grounds, furniture and equipment to include eight locations. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and grounds care work will be required.  Will perform custodial duties as assigned.  This position requires adherence to security policies and practices.  Candidate will assist with maintaining a safe and secure environment.  Personal vehicle may be used as transportation to assigned work duties. Traveling to branch locations for deliveries and running supply errands as assigned will be required.  Must be open to flexible hours when necessary to include evenings and weekends.  Must have essential physical capabilities to include lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, operating equipment, moving objects, etc. A minimum of two years’ experience in facilities maintenance or building trades necessary and must possess a valid/clean driver’s license.  This position requires working independently as well as a team.


Consumer Loan Expert
First New York Federal Credit Union’s Lending department is growing and is currently seeking a Consumer Loan Expert. Individual must demonstrate a highly motivated, positive, outgoing personality.  Emphasis will be on sales and results to ensure the maximization of lending and sales opportunities. Must exhibit the ability to think independently by effectively responding to each individual lending situation. The Loan Expert will be expected to possess a thorough knowledge of the lending process from application to closing. Responsibilities include consistently achieving loan sales goals and presenting appropriate solutions to fit lending needs while recommending products and services.  The Loan Expert must become familiar with underwriting philosophies, lending decisions, approval stipulations, credit bureau reports and scores, extended warranties, GAP insurance, Credit Life and Disability insurance, loan rates and lending policies and procedures. Requirements include 2+ years of consumer lending experience and 1 year of sales experience, a proficiency with MS Excel and Word, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Consumer/Conventional Mortgage Loan Underwriter
First New York FCU is seeking a Consumer/Conventional Mortgage Loan Underwriter for a busy lending department.  Position entails using good judgment and underwriting skills to evaluate loan applications for risk and approval or denial of loan.  Will exercise sound judgment to approve or deny consumer, home equity and conventional mortgage loans and use discretion to establish conditions for loan disbursement.  Loan offers are considered in accordance with delegated approval authority and loan policy.  Will conduct credit analysis on loan applications.  Ensures that all regulatory disclosures are sent in a timely and compliant manner.  The ability to cross-sell and up-sell lending products to maximize member relationship is expected.  A pending loan application queue will be maintained. NMLS designation must be maintained.  Must possess at least 2+ years of previous lending experience in credit union/banking environment and conventional mortgage underwriting.  A strong commitment to providing excellent member service is expected.  Must be familiar with automated underwriting systems.  Will be expected to maintain a proficient knowledge of all credit union products and services and industry trends.
